What this is
Two things, and they hold each other up.
A place for young people from this reserve to be on the land — with horses, with work that pays, and with an elder teaching them what he knows.
And a guest side — cabins, trail rides, fishing — that pays for the first one so it never has to depend on a grant cycle.
The kids come first. The rest exists to keep the lights on.
Where it stands today
Nothing is built yet.
There's land. There's a patch of bush cleared for a track. There are horses. That's it, and we'd rather say so than pretend otherwise.
Every one of those "not yet" lines is why we're asking for help now instead of later.
The country
Horses, water, bush and open sky. This is the kind of ground the ranch is being built for.

The teaching
Vincent Nooskey has spent his life carrying knowledge of this land.
The plants, the medicine, the way things are done here.
He'll be teaching it to every young person who comes through this program.
Held for one or two lines in Vincent's voice, if he wants them here. Nothing goes in this space that doesn't come from him.
How to help
Two ways, and both matter.
Give
Money goes into building — posts, lumber, fencing, feed. Small amounts are fine. We'll tell you exactly what it bought.
Come work
Fencing, clearing, hauling, framing. Bring a truck, bring a skill, or bring a day.
One thing straight up: we're not a registered charity, so we can't issue a tax receipt. What we can do is tell you where every dollar went.
